About Celine

If you had asked Celine what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would have enthusiastically replied, “a ballet teacher!” For most of her childhood, dance was at the centre of Celine’s life. She trained at the Goh Ballet Academy and in her spare time loved choreographing dances for her friends. Being able to share her passion for music and movement to others was a source of joy for her.

Recently returning to dance as an adult has only strengthened Celine’s passion for it. Her experience as a healthcare professional has also given her a deeper perspective on what participation and function can look like for individuals with diverse needs. Through joining the SJ Adaptive Dance Program, Celine hopes to combine the joy she found in dance as a child with her advocacy for ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to take part in activities that are meaningful to them.

Celine's favourite dance memory:
“Taking classes at the National Ballet of Canada when the dancers were preparing for the Nutcracker! I got a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the props, costumes, and the pointe shoe room, which felt so magical!“
