Asal Ahadi is a contemporary Azerbaijani folk dance artist, producer, choreographer, and educator based in Vancouver with over 27 years of experience in music and dance. She is the co-founder and artistic director of Chichak Performing Arts Company, where she creates work that blends traditional Azerbaijani folk dance with contemporary movement to share stories of culture, identity, and resilience. Asal is also a proud member of the SJ Adaptive Dance Program team and is deeply excited to begin this meaningful project alongside such a dedicated group of artists and educators.

Asal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and has extensive experience teaching and working with students of all ages. She especially loves working with children and introducing them to the joy of cultural dance. Working closely with the team, she hopes to help create a supportive and inclusive space where every participant can feel confident, joyful, and empowered through movement and music.
